Biography

Has a degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Costa Rica (1994). She has a master's degree in Business Administration from Universidad Latina de Costa Rica (1997) and a master's degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Costa Rica (2006). She graduated from the first promotion of the Sustainability Management Program of INCAE (2005).

She has been a professor at the University of Costa Rica since 1996 and served as coordinator of the Accreditation Program of the School of Industrial Engineering before the Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board (CEAB). She was the Director of the School of Industrial Engineering at the Rodrigo Facio Campus between the periods of 2006 to 2009 and 2009 to 2013, as well as Academic Coordinator of the Degree in Industrial Engineering at the Interuniversity Headquarters in Alajuela between 2005 and 2013, in which positions were highlighted to strengthen the administrative teaching management, promote Research and Social Action in both venues, improve the academic development of the teaching staff and create new projects that frame the Engineering towards a vision of social progress for the country.

She has been working at this institution since June 9, 2014 and served as Vice Minister of Science and Technology until May 22, 2017, date from which she began her work as Minister of MICITT.
